The Get Centered Mental Health Clinic (GCMHC)


Founded in 1986 as a free counseling service in a three room professional office suite on 207th Street, Get Centered is the oldest and largest outpatient mental health clinic in Community Board # 12 (i.e. Inwood/Washington Heights). Certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH), Get Centered provides outpatient individual, group and family therapy as well as psychopharmacological treatment. Specialized child and adult support groups for depression, anxiety reduction, stress management, and sexual abuse survivor recovery are also offered.

The Get Centered Mental Health Clinic is staffed by experienced, credentialed, and culturally competent clinicians. Medicaid and most managed care and major insurance plans are accepted.
